Communication Design Fall 2008 studio explores creative solutions in “Design for Democracy.” There are two assigned projects for the 10-week course. The first project challenges students to create design artifacts that mobilize college community in the participation of the 2008 U.S. election. The second project challenges students to develop effective design products that address what we can do for democracy in America, following a historical election. Students are encouraged to employ any medium they see suitable in their communication projects, work as individuals or groups.

The students self-organized a group effort to install graphic products on campus to help getting out of the votes on election day. They produced cost effective graphic artifacts and worked through Sunday night to get things done. See a slides show at http://www.flickr.com/photos/31770253@N04/sets/72157608685323384/show/
